Hi, I’m Jaylen Johnson

Its nice to meet you! Since a young age I always wanted to be an entrepreneur. As I got older I realized more and more how important it is to love what you do. If you love what you do you will bring a level of passion to it that people who don’t love what they do, can’t bring. The reason most people become entrepreneurs is because they love their idea, feel passionate about it, and believe that it should be shared with others.

I recall being a sophomore in high school and taking my first accounting course. I loved it. I understood it. I loved the feeling when other kids in the class would ask me questions knowing that I knew the answer. Since taking that class I have always been passionate about accounting. My passion for accounting is the reason I started this business. And your passion for your business is what keeps this business going.

Most likely you are passionate about the product or service you make or sell, not accounting and bookkeeping. And unfortunately accounting is the language of business. That is where I come into play. You focus on what you love, and I focus on what I love, and together we can take your business to the next level. I started NextVantage Bookkeeping because I want to use my passion and love for accounting and bookkeeping and share it with others so they can focus on their love and passion for what they do!

Some more about me: I studied finance and accounting at Washburn University in Topeka, KS. I played division II football at Washburn and was a Tight End. Playing college football for 5 years taught me a lot about discipline, hard work and passion. I grew up in Columbia, MO and moved to Kansas City when I was 13. I am a huge Chiefs fan, but being from Columbia I never really decided between the Royals and Cardinals, I grew up watching both teams play. I am the middle of 2 older sisters, 1 younger sister and 1 younger brother. I spend a lot of my free time working out, reading, playing outdoor games or chess, and watching tv shows, movies and sports.

Mission: NextVantage exists to give small-business owners clear, accurate, and trustworthy financial support so they can make confident decisions and build toward long-term success. Through integrity, client-first service, attention to detail, and simple communication, we turn bookkeeping from a burden into a tool for growth.

NextVantage Core Values and Mission

Integrity

Do what’s right even when nobody is looking. Integrity is not just important to me when preparing financials, but also during client interactions and how I choose to help my clients.

Client first

I can’t do what I love without my clients. The relationship I provide for my clients is more than just a “professional transaction”, but a true long-term partnership. The only way I can provide the value you need to be successful is if I want to see your business grow just as much as you do.

Accuracy

Attention to detail is a top priority. I want my clients to feel secure with the financials of their business in my hands. Through schooling, training, and accounting experience I am prepared to deliver accurate records and processes to give you a clear picture of the financial state of your business, so you can make important decisions.

Clarity

Many large accounting firms make it hard for small businesses. Complicated processes, complicated lines of contact and complicated workflows. My goal is to make you able to fully understand the financials of your business without any extra or confusing jargon. Clean reports, simple explanations and proactive communication.
